Surprise weight loss at this months ‘weigh-in’

It has been a long road to this … well over a year of being mindful of what I feed my body and a slow burning fire of ‘addiction’ to exercise, or more accurately, endorphins. The reward comes when I see images of myself and thinking ‘yup, that’s me, the way I remember me looking’. I feel so much more confident about my body.

I’m motivated to help others feel the same way and can’t help sharing my enthusiasm about eating correctly and exercising. Don’t get me wrong!  Some days are harder than others, some weeks harder than others and some months, complete torture. But I push through those days and I’m reaping the results.

I headed to do my monthly weigh-in at Weigh Less last Wednesday and was really expecting the scale to stay the same as I have not been ‘trying’ to lose any more weight, but working hard on toning and building muscle, which usually causes the scale to go up a little.  When I stepped on the scale and saw the reading I was beyond surprised.  My original goal weight was set for 74kgs, when I achieved that, I told Georgia I wanted to keep going and worked for 72kgs, then for70kgs and said I’d be happy to stay there.  But 68kgs does sound so much better to me, although it was quite unintentional.  This link will take you to where you can work out your Goal Weight.  It is worked out according to your height, age and shoe size.

I’ve never been one to follow ‘diets’ and what I love about Weigh-Less is that I did have to go out and buy crazy foods, or make insane adjustments, except for learning to actually eat.  I did realise that although I was making healthy choices, I was not consuming nearly enough protein and carbs.  I do want to add this, I did have hypothyroidism (although mine was just under) and my weight loss improved greatly once my doctor had put me on a three month course of Eltroxin.  So, if you’re battling to lose weight, I strongly suggest, providing you’re making good food choices, that you do have your thyroid checked out.  (See this link for some common symptoms).

    Awesome! The hard work does pay off 🙂 I just started tracking my calories and already lost 4 lbs. I’m just at that age where I can’t eat whatever I want (so sad ..lol).

    Good job, Wee! You are such an inspiration to me. Thought it was odd that the goal weight incorporates shoe size. Said my bottom weight was 68kg. Guess I better get busy

    Well done Wendy. Hard work really does pay off. I just love the fact that you were not trying to loose you were just taking good care of yourself and the 2kg just melted off. Keep going i love your blog, so real.
