My boys are both as crazy about clothing, shoes and their personal presentation of themselves as what I am. I sometimes think they spend more time doing their hair, and double checking that it is perfect, than what I do. But I don’t mind.
I remember people shaking their heads at what my friends and I wore at times at teens, and I see some people give them the look, but I’m one of the moms who believes that they need to find their own style, their own voice, their own truths. They need to express themselves. I have allowed them to get piercings, but I draw the line at tattoos. I’m not up for those. Neither for myself, nor them. Once they are out of home, they’re welcome to get themselves as tatted as they like.
But more than all that, I love watching the bond my boys share. I love when they say nice things about each other. They fight. They get on each others nerves. They irritate each other. Yesterday Liam said he does not know what he’d do without Jarod. I think he missed him the most while he was on holiday. They share so much in common and I hope their bonds withstands all the things life will bring their way.
