Being down in the southern hemisphere, we’re still toting our summer gear and dealing with the heat, however, I’m seeing a lot of talk around leather pants/leggings and of course its a good sign that they’ll be seeing them this coming season.  They have been around for a while and there has been lots of mention of them.

feature-leatherI’ve never worn leather pants or skirts, however, when I see my favourite style-spiration bloggers in my age group wearing them, I’m ever so tempted to start my hunt for a pair for the coming season.  I for one have gotten to the stage where I feel you need to dress in what you feel comfortable in.  It still is, always has been and always will be unacceptable to dress like you’re 15 when you’re almost 50, but there’s no reason that you can’t be stylish and a little hip even when you’re 70 and beyond.

I think there is an appropriate way to dress fashionably at every stage. However, it is fun to incorporate some youthful elements at 50 and beyond. I think bows, headbands, etc can be done….but it needs to be done tastefully. I really love the idea of leather leggings, but I don’t know if I can see myself wearing one. I’ll have to look for it in stores and try it on.

I think you can rock leather pants and skirts as long as you pair it with the correct tops and shoes 🙂 Especially with your rocking body now 🙂

I’ve written about this issue on my blog and was half-way through a post addressing it again but then gave up. The sand of fashion keeps shifting. Ultimately I believe every woman has the right to decide for herself what to wear and even though others will judge it, this particular choice can be argued either way.

I don’t think age should be a factor in deciding if you should try something … Keep it sharp and smart and you can’t go wrong!!!
