I finally had my weight and assessment done at the gym this morning. BMI sounds horrid … but all in all, not too badly for someone who is doing nothing in the way of shaping up. Sadly, my home scale is not digital and I thought I was about 2 kgs (4.4 pounds) less than what their scale said. The assessment says my metabolism is average, water retention not too bad, but that I need to lose 8 kgs (17.6 pounds), which is around the number I had in my head.
We (Schatz and I) spoke with the trainer about diet and since I really don’t love meat/chicken, I do battle to consume the right amount of protein (when I went on weighless last year, my body loved the protein). She suggested protein supplements/shakes and said she’d get a vegetarian based diet for me to follow. I believe that would work well with me.
I know that if I simply get my portions right and my protein intake back on track, I can drop 3 kgs (6.6 pounds) in a matter of weeks. What I do miss the feeling of having enough energy when eating the right amount of food needed by my body.
I did some rowing and cycling while I waited for the lady who looks after the salon to arrive, and then went on the flab-busting machine. I know, a bit of a cop-out, but I’m working at getting a routine together. However, I’ve made enough excuses and its now time to get a little more serious and committed. With my schatz hounding me, it may just be a little more motivation/aggrivation than I need, but I sure don’t want to lie down with muscleman and feel like a flobby loaf about to be put in the oven.
I’ve just been crusing Pinterest and found some inspiring bodies and exercises as well as quotes to help motivate me.
