What an interesting day!

We headed off to Nino’s at Bedford Center for Breakfast.  I love the Biggie Best & … store.  Jarod picked up a huge glass timer and turned it over telling me how much he loves them before replacing it on the shelf and turning to walk away.  I had barely turned around to make my way toward the door when I  heard an almighty smashing sound and just knew that the glass timer had smashed to the ground.  Jarod was frozen in place with a ‘oh shit’ look on his face.  We all frozen … and then I laughed!  Out loud.  Oh bud!  Well, the store has a ‘you break it, you buy it policy’ and I said then at least give me the box … isn’t it a pretty box?  I especially like the quotes on it.

We then strolled through the mall and headed for the car and made out way to Queen Street.  I enjoyed looking at the treasures and tinder there.  In Barter Buy, I was quite taken aback when Liam asked how this telephone worked … I looked at him for a moment or two while a few replies went through the mind and then I really realised that my boy has never, ever, in his entire life, has he had to use to a real old ring dialler phone.  So much we take for granted and so much from our past they are blissfully unaware of.  I think we need to walk through second-hand and antique stores more often.

After going through three of the stores we headed for coffee and cake.  Sadly the Chocolate Mousse cake Liam ordered looked nothing like it should have and was rather disappointing and dry, but the Pecan Nut pie, Almond Croissant and Black Forest Cake all went down well.

The weather was awesome and Liam was out in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.  I feel the slightest chill so am not that brave.  I decided to wear my new jeans from Mr. Price to get them a little more worn in and popped on my favourite grey and black stripped knit and my statement necklace that Schatz bought in Umhlanga on our recent trip.  Since I knew we may do a little walking, I choose to wear my wedge heel booties as I’m not used to wearing heels anymore.  Older age is catching up … my ankles are feeling a little achy this morning, but it was worth it as we had a good relaxed morning together.

The stores and brands : Jeans : Mr. Price, Insync | Knit : Legit  | Booties : Edgars, Kelso.

Hope all the Dads had a wonderful Happy Father’s Day.
