Our living room is one of the rooms that I’ve been dissatisfied with for quite a while now and sadly, the time had come to retire my lounge suite.  We’ve been looking at possible replacements but have not been able to come to an agreement.

This past week I ‘advised’ Schatz the suite needed to be sent off and we agreed that if the size was right, we’d move the suite that Graeme had when we moved in together and that has lived upstairs in the study area into the lounge, providing it was not too much bigger.  I measured it and was happy to find that it was not larger than the suite we had in the lounge as we originally thought.  It is in fact a little smaller.  Great – but I intensely disliked the cushions that were on it.  We picked out three potential cushions at Mr. Price on Friday and popped them on to make a decision.

Saturday dawned and Graeme and Jarod moved my suite out and brought his one down.      Once the couches were in, we decided to return one of the cushions and purchase more of the ones we liked.  There were not enough of the cream and blue pattered ones, so we are still needing to purchase two cushions, but are making do with what we had in the house until we find another more suitable.  We also bought a new lampshade for one of the lamps and moved one shade onto another lamp to replace one that was broken.

Next up, a new mat and paint for the walls, but that may only happen once I return from my trip.  I am going to carry the colour scheme through to the dining room and am hunting for suitable new seat pads for the dining room chairs as well as runners for the coffee, dining room table and side board.

Ritzy Modern living... reminds me of Holly! Great kitchen dining living area!

Blue/brown living room

Nice small living room layout and decor. Very cute and do-able. The pillows would be great for our sectional. I love the blue with brown

A peep at what’s been happening …

I decided to add in this gold/mustard shade for a pop of colourbluelampshade

This blue shade is what I will be taking with me to the paint store when I go to purchase paint – its fairly commonly referred to as ‘duck egg blue’ here in South Africa.

I will be adding more posts as the room is updated.

Happy Monday and thanks for reading/visiting
